KARACHI – Honda Atlas Cars Ltd. (HACL) has discontinued production of the Honda BR-V in Pakistan after seven years and removed the model from its official website.
The company confirmed that the decision was not linked to any supply chain issue or difficulty in importing parts and accessories.
According to a senior HACL executive, Honda stopped manufacturing the BR-V because the model had reached the end of its product lifecycle.
Honda BR-V Production Ends After Seven Years
The Honda BR-V was introduced in Pakistan in 2017, with local assembly beginning in April of that year.
The company produced 648 units and sold 527 units during its first month of assembly.
However, demand for the seven-seater crossover gradually declined over the years, resulting in lower production levels.
A senior Honda official said production had dropped to around 25 to 50 units per month before the company decided to discontinue the model.
No Replacement Confirmed Yet
Honda Atlas has not confirmed whether it plans to launch a direct replacement for the BR-V in Pakistan.
The company executive said there was currently no confirmation regarding the introduction of another model in the same category.
Meanwhile, Honda dealerships have reportedly removed the BR-V from showrooms, with dealers stating that customer interest in bookings and purchases had decreased significantly.
BR-V Sales Decline Amid Changing Auto Market
Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) data shows a sharp decline in combined production and sales of the BR-V and HR-V models.
During July and August, combined production stood at 120 units, compared with 1,460 units during the same period in 2025.
Similarly, combined sales declined to 191 units, compared with 731 units in the previous year.
The figures reflect changing consumer preferences and increasing competition in Pakistan’s automobile market.
Competition From Hybrid and Electric Vehicles
The decline of the Honda BR-V comes as Pakistan’s automotive sector experiences major changes.
Chinese and Korean automakers have expanded their presence in the market with new hybrid, range-extended electric and battery-electric vehicles.
These newer models have attracted buyers looking for better fuel efficiency, modern features and alternative powertrain options.
Industry data suggests that traditional models like the BR-V and HR-V have faced increasing pressure as consumer demand shifts toward newer technologies.
Honda BR-V’s Journey in Pakistan
Honda introduced the BR-V as a compact seven-seat crossover aimed at families looking for additional space and practicality.
Over its production period, the vehicle competed in a segment that gradually became more crowded with new local and imported options.
