OKARA – A young man was allegedly killed following a dispute over Rs200 worth of bananas in Okara, with CCTV footage of the incident emerging as police investigate the case. 

According to the FIR, the incident took place in the Seth Colony area of Okara. The victim was identified as Abdul Rehman, who had recently returned from Saudi Arabia.  

The case was registered on the complaint of the victim’s brother, Muhammad Hashim, against two nominated suspects and eight unidentified people.  

Dispute Started Over Rs200 Payment 

According to the FIR, Abdul Rehman had purchased bananas worth Rs200 from a street vendor. 

As he was leaving, the vendor allegedly called him back and claimed that he had not paid for the bananas. 

An argument followed, which later turned violent. 

The FIR alleges that Tariq Majid and another suspect identified as Majo, along with eight unidentified people, were involved in the altercation.  

During the confrontation, Abdul Rehman was allegedly attacked with a knife. 

He was taken to hospital for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries.  

CCTV Footage Emerges 

CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced, providing investigators with visual evidence of the confrontation. 

The footage reportedly shows an argument developing before the attack. 

The emergence of the footage could assist police in establishing what happened during the dispute and identifying those involved. 

However, the footage alone does not establish criminal liability, which will depend on the police investigation and subsequent legal proceedings. 

Police Register Case in Okara 

Police have registered a case following the incident. 

According to reports, the FIR names two suspects and eight unidentified individuals. 

No arrest had been reported at the time of publication, while police were continuing efforts to locate the suspects.  

The case is being investigated by police in Okara. 

The A Division police station is among the stations listed in the official Okara police directory.  

Victim Had Recently Returned From Saudi Arabia 

Reports said Abdul Rehman had recently returned to Pakistan from Saudi Arabia. 

The incident has added to the family’s grief, with local reports saying he had returned only days before the fatal confrontation.  

The FIR states that the victim’s brothers reached the scene after receiving information about the dispute.  

Investigation Underway 

Police are continuing their investigation into the Okara man killed over Rs200 dispute. 

Investigators are expected to examine the CCTV footage, statements and other evidence as they work to determine the circumstances surrounding the death. 

The identities and roles of all those involved will ultimately be determined through the investigation and legal process.
