ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi met with FIFA President Gianni Infantino in a productive meeting. The discussion centered on the immense potential of sports in Pakistan, particularly football, due to its growing popularity.
Chairman Naqvi highlighted Pakistan’s potential and talent, considering football’s rising popularity in the country. Mohsin Naqvi extended a warm invitation to the FIFA president, inviting him to visit Pakistan. The FIFA President was quick to accept the invitation.
Recently, the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) lifted the suspension imposed on the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF). The suspension was lifted after the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) unanimously approved the constitutional amendments proposed by FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
FIFA issued a statement in this regard, which mentioned that the suspension was lifted on March 2, 2025, after the PFF Congress revised the constitution according to the amendments proposed by FIFA and AFC. Shahid Khokhar, a member of the PFF Normalisation Committee, confirmed the development, making Pakistan eligible to participate in international football tournaments and championships.
