ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s Federal IT Minister, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, and Saudi Arabia’s Communication and IT Minister, Abdullah Al-Swaha, have committed to proceeding with Pakistan’s tech collaboration with Saudi Arabia in a high-level meeting.
Both ministers talked about starting the Pakistan Digital Corridor to link it with China and Central Asia, aiming to boost global digital connectivity.
During the meeting, the main highlight was Pakistan’s approval of a Rs 4.8 billion Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) initiative to provide semiconductor training to over 7,000 youth in modern technologies.
While highlighting the significance of joint initiatives in AI and computing technologies, Minister Shaza Fatima highlighted Pakistan’s full support for Saudi Arabia’s National Semiconductor Hub.
Both nations enthusiastically collaborated through the Saudi National Technology Development Program to boost partnerships with the private sector.
Ministers of both nations reiterated their mutual vision for innovation in the Department of Tech. Pakistan’s achievements in cybersecurity and the tactical role of its armed forces were also acclaimed during the meeting.
This meeting shows the interest of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in achieving the regional leadership in tech and the development of digital infrastructure.
Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja said on the previous Sunday that Pakistan has transformed its collapsing economy onto the path of sustainable growth and also transformed the Digital infrastructure under the leadership of PM Shehbaz Sharif.
She further added that the economic condition has improved over the last two years due to the government’s firm efforts.
