LAHORE – In a surprising development for the owner of vehicles, the Punjab government has announced a digital platform to allow citizens to bid online for acquiring premium vehicle registration number plates for their vehicles, such as motorcycles, cars, and commercial vehicles.
The newly launched initiative enables users to participate in the program via a specifically designed mobile application and website, both of which are developed by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) in collaboration with the Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Department. The deadline for registration and bidding for the e-auction program is July 30, 2025.
PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf urged that this program aims to ensure transparency and user convenience. He stated that this program will finish the need for any physical visits to excise offices or third-party agents to acquire the premium number plates.
Furthermore, the features of the application include real-time notifications such as the status of the chosen bid and the announcement of the bid’s winner. The services of agents will no longer be needed in this initiative.
