TEHRAN – According to reports by the Iranian media, Iran’s air defense system has successfully shot down two Israeli F-35 fighter jets and took a female fighter pilot captive. The Iranian media claims that Iran has become the world’s first nation to shoot down the American-made fifth-generation F-35 aircraft.
Meanwhile, Iranian forces in retaliation for the airstrikes conducted by Israel launched missile strikes that targeted the Israeli capital and its adjoining regions. The military operation is named “True Promise 3” by the Iranian media.
According to reports by the Israeli media, incoming missiles were detected, and the civilians were urged to find safety while the attack was being intercepted by the defence forces. Explosions were reportedly heard in Tel Aviv and Tehran as tensions soar in the region.
Both sides suffered casualties as Israel confirmed the loss of two lives and dozens of injuries, while the Iranian sources reported heavy losses, which included the loss of senior military leadership and hundreds of civilians wounded in the aftermath of the air strikes conducted by Israel.
