CALIFORNIA – We often think about how we will look in an outfit. Google’s step-in here to solve this issue. Google is going to launch its new experimental app, Doppl, that will allow users to see how different outfits will look on them with the help of Artificial Intelligence. The company announced this app on Thursday, and it is available on iOS and Android in the U.S.
You can try new outfits on a virtual version of yourself with the help of Doppl. First, you have to upload your full-body picture, and then you can use screenshots or photos of the outfits that you want to try on yourself.
Doppl will generate a digital version of yourself wearing the outfit you selected. Doppl can also convert the generated images into videos with the help of AI. You can save your favourite outfits and can also share them with others.
The basis of this app is Google Shopping’s recently announced virtual clothes try-on feature. Doppl mix up shopping AI features with its new experimental features to enhance the user experience. It may also help Google in collecting data to build more innovative products in this space.
Google introduced virtual try-on technology earlier, which displayed clothes on various models, embracing diversity in body types. The company, however, has made a gigantic leap ahead with Doppl, which lets people test an outfit for the first time using a dynamic, moving replica of one’s own body. The feature makes the shopping experience personalized, interactive in nature as you discover how various styles fit and drape on your own body.
