LAHORE – TikTok today shared the top searched words on the platform in Pakistan in 2025, offering a snapshot of what Pakistanis were most curious about this year, from where to travel and what to eat, to the biggest match-ups, most talked-about shows, and the sounds driving culture across the platform.

From cricket-fuelled conversations and entertainment buzz to practical searches like product reviews and mehndi designs, the 2025 list reflects how TikTok search is increasingly used as a discovery tool for real life. People are coming to TikTok to explore destinations before they go, to catch up on moments as they happen, and to find quick, relatable guidance through creators who speak their language and understand local context.

What Pakistan’s searches reveal
This year’s searches tell a story of discovery with purpose. Travel queries, from Islamabad to Altit Fort Hunza, point to a growing appetite for exploring Pakistan’s landscapes and landmarks, with TikTok acting as a planning companion through reviews, itineraries, and creator-led recommendations.

At the same time, searches tied to major matches and headline moments underline how Pakistan experiences culture collectively, with TikTok helping people relive key highlights, follow the conversation, and join communities in real time.

Pakistanis are using TikTok search not only for entertainment, but also to learn quickly, compare options, and make more confident decisions. The 2025 list reflects a platform that sits at the intersection of culture and utility, where what is trending is often what is genuinely useful.

TikTok said searches for several popular content tags rose in Pakistan over the past year, pointing to growing use of the platform as a discovery tool. Searches linked to #TravelTok increased by 53%, while #FoodTok rose by 52%. #StudyTok searches were up 60%, and #FitnessTok recorded the largest jump, growing 66% year-on-year. The figures suggest Pakistani users are increasingly turning to TikTok to find content aligned with their interests and curiosity.

Meanwhile, Do Do-hee is a chaebol heiress known as the Princess of Mirae Group. She is smart, witty, and fashionable.

Demon Jeong Gu-won and Do Do-hee cross paths in a bizarre cosmic twist where she ends up in a life and death situation and the Demon has to save the chaebol heiress; however, this crossover leads to the Demon losing his mark which was the source of his power to Do Do-Hee as the mark was transferred to the chaebol’s wrist.

After this incident, their life become connected, and they face countless near-death situations, but their lives take a 90-degree turn when they perform the hilarious ‘salsa’ dance to fend off thugs trying to kill Jeong Gu-won. It marked the beginning of their romantic life in which they suffered many hardships desperately trying to keep each other with them as a ragged beggar, known as ‘God’ of the My Demon universe, closely follows the events in amusement. This drama also features a second female lead who is in love with Gu-won, desperately making it a perfect drama to watch.

Business Proposal

‘Business Proposal’ is a great drama to gain interest in K-dramas. The drama is filled with comedy and romance, better known as a ‘lighthearted rom-com’. The drama features Kim Se-jeong as Shin Ha-ri and Ahn Hyo-seop as Kang Tae-moo. The female lead, Shin Ha-ri, is a talented food researcher and comes from a middle-class family that owns a chicken shop. Her best friend needs her help as she is forced by her family to go on blind dates, and she asks Shin Ha-ri to take her place and reject her date. However, things take a wild turn when the date is revealed to be Kang Tae-moo, the president of her company.

Shin Ha-ri regains her composure and acts as a wild woman to make Kang Tae-moo reject her (her best friend). However, the situation becomes further complicated as Kang Tae-moo develops affectionate feelings towards Shin Ha-ri, who was there in place of her best friend. She manages to turn Kang Tae-moo down and escapes from the scene, but she ends up in Kang Tae-moo’s car, hiding away from her ‘crush’. A series of events takes place afterwards, which makes the self-absorbed CEO Kang Tae-moo fall head over heels for Shin Ha-ri, who had to become Shin Geum-Hi to impress Kang Tae-moo’s grandfather.

This drama is filled with complications, which makes it even more interesting to watch. It isn’t the cheesy romance type drama, but the one filled with romantic and comedic moments. The twists and turns in the drama never end as Shin Ha-ri’s best friend Jin Young-seo falls for  Kang Tae-moo’s secretary Cha Sung-hoon, and their relationship gets spiced up. This K-drama features one of the happiest endings to the drama, which satisfies K-drama industry fans and rom-com lovers.

Backstreet Rookie

Many of you who will watch ‘My Demon’ will be captivated by Kim Yoo-jung’s performance and will wonder if you will get another drama starring Kim Yoo-jung and her charming performance, for which this K-drama ‘Backstreet Rookie’ features the perfect rom-com and comedy. This K-drama features Kim Yoo-jung as Jung Saet-byeol, a former delinquent, who now gets a job in a convenience store; however, the owner of the convenience store is not only the male lead but also a man with whom she had a history when she was a teenager.

She decides to work hard and impress her boss to regain his trust and draw a line between her teenage and current self. As a result of their work together, they developed a strong bond that transcended friendship, which neither of them expected when they reentered each other’s lives. Many of the viewers loved Kim Yoo-jung’s role in Backstreet Rookie, which conflicted with her role in My Demon, as both K-dramas may be similar in terms of romance, but ‘My Demon’ is a more serious and dramatic K-drama, while ‘Backstreet Rookie’ features silliness and humour.

Ji Chang Wook as Choi Dae-hyun is featured as the owner of the convenience store who has a beautiful girlfriend from a rich family he however, he belongs to a middle-class family desperately trying to improve his family’s conditions. The presence of Jung Saet-byeol drives a wedge between the couple, eventually breaking them up, much to the happiness of Jung Saet-byeol, who had already developed affectionate feelings towards Dae-hyun.

In short, Backstreet Rookie strikes a perfect balance between comedy and drama, creating a well-rounded and thoroughly entertaining series.

Lovely Runner

A drama with no significant promotions still gained recognition alongside ‘Queen of Tears’. This K-drama featured Byeon Woo-seok as Ryu Sun-jae and Kim Hye-yoon as Im-sol, the chemistry between the two captivates many. Their love was seen transcending time countless times. The genre of the drama was a mix of rom-com, comedy, and sci-fi, as the female lead Im-sol was able to time travel to save her celebrity crush. Im-sol had lost her legs in an accident and thus had to travel in a wheelchair. However, she never backed down from challenges and attended Sun-jae’s concert regardless. But the news of Sun-jae’s death was a shock to her, and she accidentally traveled back in time through her watch.

A series of events was pursued, and thus a time-travelling love story came to life through this drama. The drama revolved around Im-sol protecting Sun-jae from dying in her current timeline, but she wasn’t always successful. However, she didn’t back down in the initial phase; she didn’t realise her actual love for Sun-jae, and only later did the main leads fall head over heels for each other.

‘Lovely Runner’ is more than a heartfelt time-travel romance where a devoted fan journeys to the past to save her favorite idol from a tragic fate, as it serves as a motivation to protect your loved ones at any cost. The ending of the drama was very emotional, but the couple managed to reunite with Sun-jae, regaining his memory, and a cruel man who desperately tried to kill Im-sol and Sun-jae behind bars, the couple hugged, marking an end to the back-and-forth time-travelling.

Love Next Door

A drama true to its name, where love was found right next door. The drama features a rom-com from childhood friends to lovers. It features Jung So-min as Baek Seok-ryu and Jung Hae-in as Choi Seung-hyo. The female lead returns to Korea, breaking off her engagement without telling or giving any reason whatsoever, unbeknownst to her family and friends. This gives her a chance to reunite with her childhood friend and foe, Seung-hyo, who is now an architect.

After reuniting with Choi Seung-hyo, they continue their antagonistic relationship as their Moms were close friends but were in constant competition over whose child is more thriving and successful. Baek Seok-ryu and Choi Seung-hyo had nothing to gain from their mom’s constant competition; however, they got closer over time, learning new things about each other. Seung-hyo unknowingly starts to develop feelings for Seok-ryu and becomes protective of her best friend, not allowing her Fiancé to regain her love. By the time they grow closer, another bombshell drops on the couple as the actual reason for breaking her engagement is revealed.

Seok-ryu is revealed to have cancer, a plot twist that surprised and angered some fans who started pointing out the similarities between ‘Queen of Tears’ and ‘Love Next Door’; however, after it is revealed, her mother stops being harsh on Seok-ryu and allows her to do what she wants.

The next step for the couple is to keep their relationship hidden, as they were unaware of their parents’ reaction to their sudden announcement. The two grow closer to each other, but their relationship is revealed, and now they have to try everything to be together. In the end, they are able to protect their relationship, gaining the approval of their moms who had broken their friendship; however, afterwards, they were able to repair their relationship, marking a happy ending to the rom-com K-drama. The ending of the ‘friend turned lovers’ K-drama satisfied the audience, considering the freshness of their relationship as they delayed their marriage to focus on their jobs.
