LAHORE – As per the Punjab Government’s order, schools are supposed to remain closed starting from 22nd May, 2026, Friday. However, in the face of these developments, some schools failed to uphold the directives to keep the school closed for the three-month period. Lahore Grammar School(LGS) is a prominent example among these schools.

According to sources reaching out to Upfront, Lahore Grammar School, Arif Jan Road, has completely disregarded the government’s decision and directed the students to attend school in plain coloured clothes.

The decision was made by the school administration and conveyed to the students on 21st May, 2026. It came as a shock for many students, and the school administration received serious backlash due to their inability to follow the government’s directives, as Lahore experiences serious heat waves and children face trouble attending school activities.

Students demand that the administration correct their stance and allow students to enjoy their summer holidays without any scheduled examinations from 1st June, 2026. The attending school in plain coloured clothes is indeed an attempt to save them from public attention, but it raises serious questions that many parents and children are deliberately asking why the school is conducting exams in extreme weather conditions with official closure notifications.
