Facebook to Convert All Videos to Reels, Renames “Video” Tab

Published

on

CALIFORNIA – Facebook announced that all the videos will now be shared as reels on Facebook.

As we know that before this announcement, we have been able to share videos both as a reel and a normal video, but now the company has decided to rename the Video tab as the Reels tab.

However, Facebook says that this update will not change the videos that are recommended to you.

In the upcoming months, all the videos will automatically upload as reels, just like Instagram.

This is not a new thing from Meta, as they have already done this with Instagram back in 2022.

Meta says that they are simplifying the publishing flow through this update. However, Meta will give us control over our audience setting of who sees our reels as before.

But this change might not be a good one for some users, as some users don’t like to post or watch long and horizontal videos as reels. Moreover, the majority of users on Facebook consider reels as only short videos, so most users may get upset as the reels will be mixed up with long videos.
