Effective Date: August 17, 2026
At Upfront News, we are committed to providing accurate, reliable and responsibly reported news and information. We understand that mistakes can occur in journalism, and we take responsibility for correcting factual errors when they are identified.
Our Corrections Policy explains how we identify, review and correct errors in our published content.
Our commitment to accuracy
Upfront News makes reasonable efforts to verify information before publication. Our editorial team reviews news reports, facts, figures, names, dates and other important details to maintain accuracy.
If we discover that an article contains a factual error, we will correct it as soon as reasonably possible.
Corrections are made regardless of whether an error is identified by our editorial team, a source, a reader or another party.
What We Correct
We may issue corrections for errors involving:
- Names, titles or identities
- Dates and locations
- Statistics, figures or financial information
- Quotes or statements
- Company, government or organisation details
- Misleading or inaccurate factual information
- Other significant factual errors
- Minor spelling, grammar or formatting mistakes that do not affect the meaning of an article may be corrected without a formal correction notice.
How Corrections Are Made
When a significant factual error is identified, Upfront News will correct the relevant portion of the article while preserving the original context where appropriate.
For material errors, we may add a correction note to the article explaining what was incorrect and what has been corrected.
We do not silently change significant factual information when doing so would mislead readers about the original report.
If an error materially changes the meaning of an article, we may update the headline, introduction or other relevant sections and clearly explain the change where appropriate.
Reader Requests for Corrections
Readers are encouraged to notify us when they believe an article contains a factual error.
Correction requests should include:
- The article’s headline or URL
- The specific information believed to be incorrect
- The correct information
- Reliable supporting evidence or a source, where available
- Readers can contact Upfront News through our Contact Us page.
All correction requests are reviewed by our editorial team. A request does not automatically result in a correction. We assess the available evidence before making changes.
Corrections vs. Editorial Disagreements
A correction request should concern a factual error. We generally do not treat differences in opinion, interpretation, political views or editorial judgment as factual errors.
However, if new evidence shows that a factual claim was inaccurate or materially misleading, our editorial team may revise the article.
Updates and New Information
News stories can develop after publication. When new information becomes available, Upfront News may update an article to reflect significant developments.
Such updates are different from corrections. A correction addresses information that was wrong, while an update adds new or subsequently confirmed information.
Where appropriate, we may indicate that an article has been updated.
Removal of Published Content
Upfront News generally does not remove published articles solely because an error has been identified.
When possible, we correct the error and retain the article so readers can understand the reporting history.
We may consider removing or substantially altering content in exceptional circumstances, including serious legal, privacy or safety concerns.
Corrections Involving Sources
If an error originates from information provided by a source, Upfront News may correct the published information when reliable evidence shows that it was inaccurate.
We remain responsible for the accuracy of information we publish, even when that information originates from an external source.
AI-Assisted Content
Upfront News may use artificial intelligence and automation tools to assist with certain editorial and production tasks, as explained in our AI & Automation Policy.
AI-generated or AI-assisted material remains subject to our editorial standards. If an AI-assisted process contributes to a factual error, we will review and correct the published information in accordance with this policy.
Correction Standards
Our corrections process is guided by the following principles:
Accuracy: We strive to publish verified and reliable information.
Transparency: Significant errors should be acknowledged and corrected clearly.
Timeliness: We aim to correct confirmed errors as soon as reasonably possible.
Accountability: We take responsibility for errors in content published by Upfront News.
Fairness: Correction requests are considered based on evidence rather than the identity or position of the person making the request.
