LAHORE – Pakistani actor Faysal Quraishi has spoken about the importance of parents supporting their children, saying sons and daughters should be treated equally even after they get married.

The actor discussed the subject during an appearance on Gup Shab, where host Vasay Chaudhry brought up Quraishi’s earlier comments about married daughters being expected to return to their parents’ homes only after their death.

Quraishi strongly disagreed with that mindset and questioned why a daughter should lose the support of her parents after marriage.

Faysal Quraishi Says Daughters Should Always Have Their Parents’ Support

Speaking about the issue, Quraishi argued that parents should stand beside their children when they are facing serious problems.

He particularly addressed situations involving violence and abuse.

The actor questioned the idea that parents should remain silent when their daughter is going through difficult circumstances simply because she is married.

His comments challenged a traditional belief that a married woman should never return to her parents’ home unless she is being brought back for her funeral.

For Quraishi, marriage does not end the relationship between parents and their children.

Sons and Daughters Should Be Treated Equally

The actor also stressed that there should be no difference between sons and daughters when it comes to parental support.

According to Quraishi, both should remain equally important to their parents.

He said parents should be there for their children regardless of whether they are married or unmarried.

His message was centered on the idea that knowing your family will stand behind you can give a person the confidence to face difficult situations.

The comments have also brought renewed attention to conversations around family support, domestic abuse and the expectations placed on married women.

Quraishi Says Pakistani Dramas Are Showing a Change

Quraishi pointed to a shift in the way Pakistani television portrays fathers and their relationships with daughters.

He recalled watching a drama in which Shamyl Khan played a supportive father to Mawra Hocane. He praised the kind of father-daughter relationship shown on screen.

The actor suggested that such portrayals can help challenge older attitudes about how parents should respond when their daughters face problems after marriage.

Pakistani dramas have increasingly explored themes such as domestic violence, women’s independence and family pressure, making these conversations increasingly visible to mainstream audiences.

Faysal Quraishi Connects the Message to Mango Jutt

Quraishi also connected his views on parental support to his upcoming Punjabi film Mango Jutt.

The actor said the film contains a dialogue reflecting the same idea of standing behind someone when they need support.

Quraishi stars opposite Hareem Farooq in the action-comedy, with Farooq also serving as the film’s producer.

The film follows Quraishi as Murad Jutt, a police officer whose story combines action, romance, comedy and family emotions.

Hareem Farooq Talks About Making a Punjabi Film

Farooq was also a guest on Gup Shab alongside Quraishi as the pair promoted Mango Jutt.

During the appearance, she discussed her decision to produce a Punjabi-language film.

The project represents Farooq’s return to the big screen after her last theatrical appearance in Heer Maan Ja in 2019. It is also her first Punjabi-language feature.

Farooq has described Mango Jutt as an important project in her career, particularly because she is involved both as a lead actor and producer.

Faysal Quraishi Performed His Own Stunts

Farooq also revealed that Quraishi performed his own stunts for Mango Jutt.

The film’s trailer has already highlighted its action-heavy approach, with Quraishi’s character involved in several large fight sequences.

The movie combines those action sequences with romance, comedy and dance, giving it the feel of a traditional Punjabi commercial entertainer.

Mango Jutt Set for Cinema Release

Mango Jutt is scheduled to hit cinemas across Pakistan on October 16, 2026.

The film is directed by Abu Aleeha and stars Faysal Quraishi, Hareem Farooq and Shamoon Abbasi among others.

Its trailer has positioned the movie as a colorful Punjabi action-comedy with family emotions at its center.

Faysal Quraishi’s Message Resonates Beyond the Film

While promoting a new movie, Quraishi’s comments touched on an issue that extends beyond the entertainment industry.

His central argument was that marriage should not erase the bond between parents and their children.

For him, parents should remain a source of support when their children face difficult circumstances.

The actor’s comments also challenge the idea that daughters become someone else’s responsibility after marriage.

Instead, his message was that children remain children, regardless of their marital status.

That perspective has sparked a wider conversation about family support and the responsibility parents have towards their sons and daughters.
