ISLAMABAD – The gold price in Pakistan today recorded a sharp decline as local bullion rates followed the downward movement in international markets.

According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jeweler’s Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 24-karat gold fell by Rs5,600 per tola, closing at Rs456,736 per tola on Friday.

The decline came after gold prices also weakened in the global market, where investors continued monitoring economic indicators and expectations around future interest rate decisions.

24-Karat Gold Price Drops in Pakistan

The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also decreased by Rs4,801.

After the latest decline, 10-gram gold closed at Rs391,577 in the local market.

Gold had already recorded a smaller decline on Thursday, losing Rs600 per tola and closing at Rs462,336.

The latest drop reflects continued volatility in both domestic and international bullion markets.

International Gold Market Sees Decline

In the international market, gold prices declined by $56, settling at around $4,342 per ounce, including a $20 premium.

Global gold prices have remained sensitive to movements in the US economy, inflation data and expectations about monetary policy. Recent market movements have been influenced by changing expectations regarding interest rates, which often affect demand for non-yielding assets such as gold.

A stronger dollar and higher interest rate expectations generally reduce gold’s appeal, while uncertainty often increases demand for the precious metal.

Silver Price Also Falls

Along with gold, silver prices also declined in Pakistan.

The price of silver dropped by Rs253 per tola, closing at Rs6,871 per tola on Friday.

The movement in silver followed the broader trend seen across precious metals markets.

Why Gold Prices Are Changing

Gold prices in Pakistan are influenced by several factors, including international gold rates, currency exchange rates and local market conditions.

Since Pakistan imports most of its gold supply, changes in global prices directly affect domestic rates.

Market analysts closely monitor international developments, including US economic data and central bank policies, as these factors influence investor demand for gold worldwide.

Gold Market Remains Volatile

The latest decline highlights the volatility currently seen in the bullion market.

For consumers, especially those purchasing gold for weddings, investment or savings, daily price movements have become increasingly important.

While gold remains one of Pakistan’s most preferred investment assets, prices continue to move based on global market trends and local economic conditions.

The gold price in Pakistan today remains closely linked with international developments, making future changes dependent on global financial signals and currency movements.
