Iqra Kanwal, Areeb await court ruling on interim bail in NCCIA case

KARACHI – A sessions court in Lahore on Tuesday reserved its decision on the interim bail applications of TikTokers Iqra Kanwal and Areeb in a case concerning the alleged promotion of an online gambling application.

Additional Sessions Judge Nusrat Ali Siddiqui heard the bail petitions, during which both accused appeared before the court and marked their attendance.

Counsel for the petitioners, Advocate Muhammad Saleem, presented arguments in support of the interim bail requests.

After hearing submissions from both the defence and the prosecution, the court reserved its verdict.

The case was registered by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), which has accused the two social media personalities of promoting an online gambling application.

Maya Ali shares sentimental connection to saree worn in Aik Aur Mohabbat

ISLAMABAD – Actor Maya Ali has revealed that the saree she wore in a recent episode of the television drama Aik Aur Mohabbat — which drew widespread attention on social media — holds special sentimental value as it was a gift from her mother.

In the drama, written by Faiza Iftikhar and directed by Farooq Rind, Maya stars opposite Ahad Raza Mir for the first time. She portrays Khushbakht Naz, an assistant commissioner and single mother.

The actor’s gold saree, worn during a wedding sequence in a recent episode, attracted praise online for its styling, with many social media users complimenting her look.

Sharing behind-the-scenes photographs from the shoot, Maya disclosed that the outfit was not sourced specifically for the production but came from her personal wardrobe.

She said the saree had been gifted to her by her mother, who believed she looked particularly elegant in traditional attire, making the outfit especially meaningful to her.

LAHORE – An audio recording purportedly involving cricketer Imad Wasim, his former wife Sannia Ashfaq and other individuals has circulated widely on social media, prompting widespread discussion online. The authenticity of the recording has not been independently verified.

The recording surfaced days after Imad addressed speculation surrounding his divorce in a social media post, saying he had personal reasons for ending his marriage and denying claims that his current wife, Nyla Rajah, was responsible for the separation.

Netflix reveals list of titles leaving the platform in July 2026

ISLAMABAD – Netflix has announced the list of movies and television shows that will be removed from its streaming library during July 2026 as licensing agreements for a number of titles come to an end.

The first batch of removals is scheduled for July 1, with additional titles leaving the platform on various dates throughout the month.

Among the films set to depart are Bohemian Rhapsody, American Hustle, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Colombiana, My Best Friend’s Wedding, Runaway Bride and Paw Patrol: The Movie.

Horror titles account for a significant portion of the removals, including Night of the Living Dead on July 4 and most of the Saw film franchise, which will leave the platform on July 19.

Only two television series are included in the July departures. The Bernie Mac Show (Seasons 1–5) and Between (Seasons 1–2) are both scheduled to leave Netflix on July 1.

Netflix regularly updates its content catalogue as licensing and distribution agreements expire, meaning subscribers have a limited period to watch affected titles before they are removed.
