LOS ANGELES – Tom Holland has indicated that his journey as Spider-Man may continue beyond his fourth standalone film, saying he is happy to keep portraying the beloved Marvel superhero for as long as the opportunity remains.

Speaking at the Los Angeles premiere of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Holland reflected on his decade-long association with the character and described the experience as the greatest gift of his career.

“There’s a family here at Marvel and Sony,” Holland said while speaking to The Hollywood Reporter. He added that working with the same creative team over the past 10 years has created a strong sense of collaboration and friendship.

According to the actor, every Spider-Man premiere still feels special despite having played Peter Parker for a decade.

Tom Holland’s future

When asked about his future as the web-slinger, Holland smiled and said he would continue playing Spider-Man “for as long as they’ll have me,” adding that the film’s success could determine what comes next.

The latest film takes place four years after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, with Peter Parker continuing to protect New York City after the world forgot his identity. However, the story introduces an unexpected evolution of his powers, creating fresh challenges for the superhero.

The premiere also marked the release of the first audience reactions, with the film expected to become one of the year’s biggest box office releases alongside The Odyssey, another major production starring Holland and Zendaya.

Clash with The Odyssey

Earlier, Holland revealed that he personally requested Sony Pictures chairman Tom Rothman to postpone production of Spider-Man: Brand New Day because its filming schedule clashed with Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.

Rothman said Sony agreed because it recognised the rare opportunity for Holland to work with Nolan, adding that the success of one major film ultimately benefits another by encouraging more people to visit cinemas.

Director Destin Daniel Cretton also praised Holland’s professionalism, saying the actor arrived on set highly motivated after completing work with Nolan. He noted that Holland’s work ethic, passion and willingness to make bold creative choices helped strengthen the production from the beginning.
