ISLAMABAD – One UI 9.5 is expected to debut with the Galaxy S27 series in early 2027, although Samsung has not officially confirmed the software.

Samsung is still rolling out One UI 9, but early internal builds of One UI 9.5 are already offering a glimpse of what could be the next major refinement to the Galaxy experience.

Leaked footage from an internal build points to smoother app animations, a redesigned fingerprint registration screen and several changes to Samsung’s Camera app.

The software could also introduce new home-screen search options and make it easier for Galaxy users to mirror individual apps on Windows PCs.

Smoother animations

One of the most noticeable changes in the leaked build is the improved animation system. Apps appear to open and close with smoother transitions, particularly when moving between applications and the home screen.

The reported improvements are available without requiring Samsung’s Good Lock customisation tools. However, the software remains in an early testing phase, so Samsung could make further changes before a public release.

Fingerprint setup gets a new design

Samsung also appears to be refreshing the fingerprint registration process. The fingerprint enrollment screen reportedly features new graphics and animations.

The changes give the setup process a more modern appearance while leaving the underlying fingerprint technology apparently unchanged.

At this stage, there is no indication that Samsung plans to introduce a major change to how the fingerprint sensor works.

Camera app receives visual refinements

The Camera app is also expected to receive several smaller interface changes. Quick-setting menus reportedly use more rounded containers, while spacing and padding have been adjusted.

Pop-up menus appear to have a softer background blur, while some icons have been resized to fit the revised controls.

Samsung has also reportedly adjusted several Camera app animations, continuing its broader effort to make the interface feel smoother.

More search options may reach Galaxy phones

One UI 9.5 could also expand the availability of newer search options.

Samsung introduced Finder and Google Search bars on the home screen with the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip8 running One UI 9.

A leaked One UI 9.5 build for the Galaxy S26 series suggests that these options could eventually become available on more compatible Galaxy devices.

The wider rollout has not been confirmed by Samsung.

Easier app mirroring on Windows PCs

Another potentially useful addition involves mirroring Galaxy phone apps to Windows computers.

The leaked implementation appears to allow users to mirror individual apps rather than displaying the entire phone interface.

The feature reportedly requires the smartphone and PC to be connected to the same Samsung Account.

It may also work most closely with Galaxy Book laptops, although the exact hardware and software requirements remain unclear.

Expected launch

Samsung has not officially announced One UI 9.5.

Current firmware leaks suggest that the software could debut with the Galaxy S27 series in early 2027 before reaching other supported Galaxy devices.

Since the leaked software is still under development, some of the reported features could change or be removed before the final release.

For now, the leaks suggest that Samsung is focusing on refinement rather than a major visual overhaul, with smoother animations, interface improvements and better connectivity among the key changes expected in One UI 9.5.
