World – Shakira, the famous singer, songwriter, and philanthropist, cancelled her second concert in the span of three days due to the ongoing technical issues. The famous “Hips Don’t Lie” hitmaker cancelled her show at Fenway Park in Boston, citing stage safety issues and left her unable to perform at the LGBTQ+ festival on Saturday night.
“Due to complications with the previous show in Boston, Shakira’s full tour production cannot be transported to Washington, D.C. in time for her scheduled performance at Nationals Park on Saturday, May 31,” reads a statement from the ballpark. Thus, the D.C show had to be cancelled.
The Colombian pop star and songwriter said that she was left “devastated” to cancel two of her shows on her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran Tour.
The Colombian star commented:
“I have been counting the days, excited to be reunited with my fans in both Washington and Boston, and my team and I have made every effort to make it happen, but it doesn’t depend on any one of us right now, and I am devastated that these shows were just not possible this time,” she commented.
The Tour Operator Live Nation later explained the reason for the show to be cancelled. Earlier, during a routine pre-show check, the structural elements were deemed unfit, and the show was forced to be cancelled. However, all crew members remained safe. She is set to perform in Atlanta on June 2
